Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or participating in the East Bay’s Best of 2026 contest (“Contest”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not participate.
Eligibility
Participation is open to individuals aged 18 or older. Businesses, organizations, and individuals must be located in or serve the East Bay / Southcoast, MA region.
Contest Participation
Participants may:
- Submit nominations during the nomination period
- Vote during the voting period in accordance with contest rules
You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when participating.
Voting & Fair Use Policy
- One vote per person per category per day is permitted
- Voting must occur in at least three categories to be valid
- Use of bots, scripts, or fraudulent voting methods is strictly prohibited
- Incentivizing votes (e.g., giveaways in exchange for votes) is not allowed
Violation of these rules may result in disqualification.
Intellectual Property
By submitting nominations, votes, or related content:
- You grant East Bay Media Group a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted content for promotional purposes
- You confirm you have the right to share any submitted material
Sponsorship & Advertising
Purchasing advertising, sponsorships, or promotional packages:
- Does not guarantee nomination or winning
- Does not influence contest outcomes
Disqualification & Enforcement
East Bay Media Group reserves the right to:
- Disqualify any participant or nominee suspected of fraud or rule violations
- Remove votes deemed invalid or suspicious
- Modify or cancel the contest if necessary
All decisions are final.
Limitation of Liability
East Bay Media Group is not responsible for:
- Technical issues, website downtime, or lost entries
- Errors in vote counting due to system failures
- Any damages arising from participation in the contest
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island.
